SquiggleFly's New Releases

Another lot of gorgeous images came out on Saturday over at Squigglefly. I have chosen this sweet image to work with, (it is actually 2 images for the price of one.)
Welcome Olga and Sasha, the 2 little Babooshka Dolls.

I have used both dolls here to creating 'nesting' sizes. They are coloured using Prismacolor Pencils, In shades of Pink, Light Blue and Light Green, which also happens to be Squigglefly's Color Challenge over on SNR card universe. (Anyone can play, but you must use Squigglefly images).
The card is made using Bazzill cardstock, the decorative paper is brand new from Imaginisce. It was embellished with co-ordinating pink and green flowers with pale blue brads. The ribbon was a great find as it is embroidered in white pink and pale green. (of course none of the hundreds of ribbons I had at home was the right one. LOL.

I am so happy with the finished card. The flower used is from the Mix n Match set called 'Floral Stems'. I simply had to choose which flower and which stem I wanted and viola! Here you have it.

I stamped in Black Brilliance ink and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils. My ovals were cut using Nestabilities Petite Ovals in small and large.
The pink cardstock is Pretty in Pink from SU and the designer paper is from Basic Grey's 6" pad called 'Lemonade'
The gorgeous sprinkles are Blossom in 6mm and 4mm, The sprinkles on the stem are Lime 3mm
Here is a close up

SquiggleFly Challenge #33

Here is my card for this weeks challenge over on the Squigglefly Blog.
The theme this week was to create 'a summer card in January'
This theme was a super easy one for me since here in Australia it is summer, and it's hot (35 -40 c or 90-100 f ) unlike a lot of my fellow stampers who are cold and some are experiencing freezing temperatures and snow.
The image I chose is called Shared Friendship and it is by artist Tracey Malnofski.
I coloured this image with Prismacolor pencils blended with Odourless mineral spirits.
Isn't this designer paper perfect, ice creams everywhere. Yum! The cardstock in yellow and orange - yellow has a woodgrain texture and I have absolutely no idea where it came from. You see I have over 1000 sheets of plain coloured 12x12's and if it's not Bazzill then I really have no idea.  LOL!
The shapes are cut out with nestabilities Labels #8

Butterfly Fairy

I have discovered another fabulous blog site called Michelle Perkett Studio. (With a name like Michelle, she must be good. LOL)
I have fallen in love with Michelle's fantasy images. Here is the 'Butterfly Fairy' and I have decided to create a card for their 1st challenge on their new Blog.
I have coloured this gorgeous image using Copic Markers, this is only my 3rd try at these markers and I am pretty happy with the results. I can still see where it needs more work and a bit more practise but I am sure I will get there eventually.
The card is 6"  white square  layered with papers from SEI. The inside of the card also has a pink insert that you can see under the flower border.
The flower border punch is by fiskars.
The card was embellished with 'blush' coloured rhinestones, pink organza ribbon, and the butterflies on her dress and in her hair were given a little extra sparkle from Diamond Stickles.
Thanks for looking

SquiggleFly: New release and a challenge

Saturday means it's time to look at SquiggleFly's New Releases. There really is fabulous images to choose from.
This is the card I have made for today's new releases as well as for this weeks SquiggleFly Color Challenge over on SNR (scrapbook news and review) Card Universe.
The colours this week are Red, Black and Pale Yellow.

This image is absolutely gorgeous and she is called 'Birthday Gifter'. It is by a very talented artist called Cheryl Alger. I am very taken with her designs and will feature them quite a lot. Here is one from a couple of weeks ago.
They are just beautiful. The images have fine lines and I find them such a joy to colour.

I am having such a good day card making I thought I would show you another card. This is another of Cheryl's designs called 'Up in Arms'. It was released just last weekend

Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge

We are already up to week 11 in Annabelle Stamps Bling and Sketch Challenge (SCS keyword ABSC011). Another great sketch by the fabulous Andrea

Here is my card.

I have chosen stamps from 2 sets, the Flower is from 'Floral Stems' and the sentiment is from 'Flowers for You'.
I have stamped the flower 3 times on white card stock with Black Brilliance Ink. I then coloured with Copic Markers and added extra sparkle with Diamond stickles.
Happy Birthday (2 separate stamps,  great set to mix n' match words) was stamped in SU Certainly Celery. It is a bit pale for my liking but it does look better in real life.
The base card is made with Bazzill Bling cardstock, the coloured layers are scraps from my stamp desk, pinks and greens. The designer paper is from Basic Greys new 6" pad called 'Sugar Rush'.
The Bling of course is the gorgeous Sprinkles.
All stamps and sprinkles are available from Annabelle Stamps.  You really must check out the new range of colours, the are to die for.

The 19th Hole

This card was made for my Father-in-Law's Birthday. He loves his golf with a passion.
The 19th Hole is a rubber stamp from Impression Obsession. I stamped in Black Brilliance Ink and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils blended with odourless mineral spirits. I wrote DAD above the door in a copic fine multiliner pen. These are water and smudge proof. Diamond Glaze was used on the '19th Hole' sign.
I then punched out the top right corner using a ticket punch from EK success.

The sentiment which I thought was just perfect is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It was cut out using petite oval nestablities.
All cardstock is from Bazzill, the decorative paper is from Kaisercraft. The deep red cardstock was put through the cuttlebug,
The finishing touches were a square copper brad and a natural coloured ric rac.
I was pleased to say he thought the card was fabulous.

Another new Annabelle

Yesterday Annabelle Stamps released it's first new range for 2010. In this card I have used stamps from 2 different sets.
The flowers and sentiment are from a set called 'Flowers with Love' and the  dotted background is from the set called 'Flourishes

I have used the corner design with Versamark ink to create a watermarked background. However the Flourishes  (and 'Build-a-bling) sets are actually designed to be used in conjunction with the gorgeous Sprinkles to create your own Rhinestone embellishments. (Much cheaper in the long run than buying individual ready made flourishes)
Here a some new sprinkles for you to have a look at, (CLICK HERE to see more)

1st is the pearl hearts, rhubarb 4mm,blackcurrant (metallic)3mm & chilli minis.

Mini sprinkles come 3 sizes in one.

All sprinkles come in these fabulous little stackable containers and now come in more sizes and colours than ever before and with names like, blueberry, raspberry, pineapple they sure are yummy .

Annabelle Stamps New Releases.

Today is the day for Annabelle Stamps first release for 2010. There are  5 new stamp sets PLUS loads more of those gorgeous Sprinkles in new colours and new sizes. They are just yummy!

Today is also a new Bling and Sketch Challenge (keyword ABSC010)

This is my card featuring stamps from 2 new sets.

I am so pleased with how this card turned out

I stamped the stylised ROSE with Brilliance Black ink and coloured with Copic markers, (this is only my second attempt and I still need more practice.) I then dotted the background using various lighter shades. I learnt this fabulous technique from Artist Crissy Armstrong, Check out her blog 'Crissy's Art n Heart' HERE for a tutorial.
I stamped the sentiment on to a scrap of white cardstock and cut out with nestabilites.
For the bling flourish, I used 2 stamps from one the flourishes sets. This is called Build-a-Bling
The idea behind these sets is to give you a placement guide for your sprinkles, pearls, rhinestones  etc. They can also be used effectively as a background stamp (my next post will show you more on this technique.)

Now for the SPRINKLES- the colour is Rhubarb, all 3 sizes have been used on my card.
The flourish uses 3mm (teeny tiny, gorgeous). The sentiment uses 4mm (small and  gorgeous) and the 5mm (large, have I mentioned these are gorgeous)

Not only are there new Sprinkles but there is also gorgeous Hearts in Pearl, pink, clear, red.
All theses are available now from Annabelle Stamps

Oswalda Goes Shopping

It's Wednesday which means it's time for the SquiggleFly colour challenge over on SNR card universe. The wonderful Stef has given us 3 colours to play with... Eggplant/purple, bright yellow, green/ SU certainly celery
The image I have chosen is by the utterly fabulous Crissy Armstrong. Most of you know Crissy from her work with High Hopes Rubber Stamps, but lucky for us she has branched out even further and here is one of her Squigglefly Digi Designs. This is 'Oswalda goes Shopping'

The yellow and egglplant card stock is from Bazzill, the green is SU certainly celery.
To make this card I printed off Oswalda and coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Odourless Mineral Spirits.
The yellow piece of Criss Cross Bazzill was put through the cuttlebug to give the lovely embossed finish. The Happy Birthday ribbon is one of the cheap ribbons from the $1 shop. Last but not least I finished off with Paper flowers from Kaisercraft with co-ordinating bazzill brads.

My 1st attempt with Copic Markers

So here is my first attempt at using Copic Markers, not my best work that's for sure. At the moment I am undecided what I think of them. I guess I expected to pick them up and come up with a perfect result 1st time. LOL.
I see so much beautiful work done with them, they are so very different to use  and a whole different technique then what I am used to with my Prismacolor Pencils.

I  picked a very simple image to colour, it is from today's new releases by SquiggleFly. This is 'Gus' by artist Jane Beljo.
The word 'celebrate' is from Stampin Up

Annabelle Sketch and Bling Challenge #9

Friday has rolled around and it is now time for another Annabelle Stamps Sketch and Bling Challenge (SCS keyword ABSC009)

Another nice easy one  for you.
For my card this week I have coloured using Twinkling H2Os as they are now available from Annabelle Stamps

Twinkling H2Os are little pots of shimmering watercolour. They are just to die for and of course I own every single colour. Unfortunately the shimmer doesn't show up so well in the photo. To embellish this card I have used the fabulous sprinkles in Blossom (wait until you see the new colours and sizes WOW you will want them all, they being released 15/01/10)

To get the best of your Twinkling H2O's it is best to emboss your image first.

The Annabelle Design Team Girls have out done themselves this week with the sketch so don't foget to checkout what the have been up to. Links to their Blogs are on the sidebar.
Next Friday is the day for Annabelle Stamps new 2010 release  so don't forget to pop back and check it out but for now let me give you a sneak peek

SquiggleFly Colour Challenge

Every Wednesday is Squigglefly's colour challenge, over on  SNR Card Universe. This week the colours Turquoise, Brown and Olive. I would never have thought to add olive to this colour combo but it works,

The image I have used is a brand new release called 'Don't be scared'. Squigglefly (for those of you who are still not familiar with them) are digital images downloaded to your computer, can you tell the difference between this card and my others?
To make this card, I resized the image to the size I wanted, printed it out on white cardstock. I coloured as normal with my Prismacolor Pencils and blended with odourless mineral spirits. I did not heat set the image or do anything different.
I cut the image out using my petite oval nestabilities and the photo corner with an SU punch.
For the base card I have used turquoise criss-cross Bazzill and the brown layers are SU chocolate chip. The designer paper is from Dream Street Papers.
I have used olive rhinestones in the top left hand corner, the ribbon as you can see  is also chocolate and turquoise.
This image was such an easy one to colour, this card took approximately 30minutes from start to finish.

High Hopes Blog Challenge #57

Welcome to all my new followers, it is so nice to see you here. So thanks so much for joining.
It is that time of the week for a new High Hopes Blog Challenge, although I am no longer a part of the team I still thought I'd play along. I know I'm probably not eligible to win the prizeand it's probably a good thing since I already have the gorgeous stamp that they have up for grabs.
The challenge is a sketch by the wonderful Head Diva Nikki.

The sketch challenges are great because you really don't have to think about where to put all the papers and embellishments, it's all there right in front of you. The hardest part is choosing which High Hopes Stamp to use.
I chose this really cool Hippo.

The image has been stamped in Black Stazon Ink and coloured with the Prismacolor pencils. The designer paper is from '3 bugs in a rug'.

Annabelle Stamps 1st challenge for 2010

Here is this weeks Annabelle Stamps Bling and Sketch Challenge #8 (scs keyword ABSC008) It's a nice easy one to get you started off for the year

Now for my card

For this card I have chosen the stamp 'Party Cupcake' it is available as single stamp. The sentiment is from the 'Swirl Tree' set.
I have stamped in Black Brilliance ink and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils. The cardstock is Bazzill and the paper is from My Memories.  My friend Wendy bought this paper because she thought it was pretty (I might add she purchased more than one sheet, because that is what stampers do), although this soft floral print is so NOT her style. Anyhow she thought I might need it because YES it is my style. So what do you think? The colour of the paper is not as good  photographed as the actual piece. It does have more mauve through it and the colouring of the image is pretty accurate.
Last but not least the embellishments are 'sprinkle pearls' also available from Annabelle Stamps

We would love to see your cards so don't forget to enter the Sketch and Bling challenge, just click on the link in the right side bar.

SquiggleFly's New Releases

Today marks Squigglefly 's  1st release for 2010.
I am so excited about this new design team that I couldn't wait to get started on my cards.
This new image is called Rag Time Reader (artist: Cheryl Alger), I think  you will all agree with me when I say she's just gorgeous.

To create this card, I simply made the image the size I wanted, then printed it out on my computer printer. Next I coloured (as normal) with my favourite Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Odourless mineral spirits.
The finished card is square about 6"x6". The cardstock is Bazzill and the designer paper is from Basic Grey's 'two scoops' pad.
I finished off with a co-ordinating paper flower and a white heart 'sprinkle'.
Keep an eye out on my blog for the release of these sprinkles (this is a sneak peek, aren't they fabulous, I just know you will all want some)

I have coloured using Prismacolor Pencils blended with odourless mineral spirits (also known as Gamsol)
The cardstock is bazzill and Su Certainly Celery, the designer paper is Crate Paper. I chose matching dusty pink satin ribbon and bazzill brads as my embellishments.
