Can Ya Doodle?

Can Ya doodle?? Yes of course. Everyone can do it, it all comes down to how confident you are at putting it on a card. They key is put pen to paper and DON'T hesitate.

Doodling is this weeks challenge #31 over on the High Hopes Blog.
I have chosen one of my favourite stamps and I have doodled around the edge using a black millennium pen, they are waterproof and are good to use with any colouring medium. (Also good for drawing in missing lines of your stamped image)
I have stamped this gorgeous elephant in black stazon ink and coloured her with prismacolor pencils and blended with odourless mineral spirits. It is all layered on to designer paper from Junkitz's Salsa range.
Hope you like this card it was quick and easy to do.

High Hopes Challenge #30

I am back from my holiday and I am straight back into creating cards. The first one I have done is for the High Hopes Challenge... The theme... One for the boys.
I have used Froggy Gift. This is one of my favourite stamps and I just love this bright colour scheme. The colours of course come directly from my paper choice. These designer papers are from Scenic Route.
I have stamped the image using Black stazon and coloured in using Prismacolor Pencils blended with odourless mineral spirits. The coloured cardstock is Cranberry Crisp from SU and the green is Bazzill. I cut the stamped image in a circle using nestabilities.
The sentiment I used is a rub on.
In Australia you can buy these stamps at Heavenscent Crafts. If you would like to check out the Challenges go to the High Hopes Blog

Viva Las Vegas

Hello everyone. I hope this post finds you all well. I have just arrived back in Australia after 3 weeks in the USA. I started off in San Francisco and then spent nearly 2 weeks in Las Vegas. My husband slipped and hurt is back and I ventured to the craft stores and Viva Las Vegas Stamps it was probably a good thing I was on my own as I spent lots of money. Whilst in Las Vegas I had an absolutely fantastic couple of days with Laura Canale, (aka Lov'n life n Vegas on SCS). Laura would have to be one of the nicest most gorgeous people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We had such a nice girly day. Then we had a Barbeque at her home the next day.

Here is Laura and I at the Fabulous Las Vegas sign

Here is the card I gave Laura, it says 'Let's do Lunch'.
Stamps by My Favorite Things.
Not only did we do Lunch we also did morning tea. We also went to the Local scrapbook store where Laura teaches card making classes. Before long our day was over. It just went so fast. Time really does fly when you have fun.
We still had a chance to catch up the next night for dinner and here is Laura and I in her kitchen.

Laura is a kind hearted wonderful lady and really talented stamper you can check out her blog 'Wish you Were Here' in my Favourite Blogs on the right or click HERE
Thanks Laura for a great couple of days. Here's to new found Friends.

Butterfly Christening

When my friend Maria asked me to make a Christening card for her Grand daughter using butterflies I wasn't sure what I was going to do.
After thinking it over for a couple of weeks. Here is the finished card.
I stamped the butterfly (by Stampendous) all over white cardstock using Memories Angelic Pink Chalk Ink. I also stamped one in gold ink and embossed with Egyptian Gold sparkly embossing powder. Using they same ink and powder I did the sentiment (PSX).
Next I cut out the sentiment using the petite oval nestabilities, and cut out the butterfly with an x-acto knife
I painted the butterfly with Twinkling H2O's in 2 shades of pink. Then added some antennae made from artistic wire.
I layered it altogether using Bazzill cardstock, some pink ribbon and finally embellished with some pearls and a floral swirl cut from a Spellbinder die.
I think my friend will be very pleased.
This is my last post for several weeks as I am off on vacation to the United States. Talk to you all when I get back

I Love Roses, thanks Carol

'I Love Roses' is at the moment my new favourite stamp set from Flourishes. The Timeless Tuesday challenge over on the Flourishes Blog, is to use your favourite set. Let me tell you picking my favourite set was EXTREMELY difficult. I love all their sets.

At the moment I have not yet purchased this set but I would like to say a very big thank you to Carol Southern for sending me some pre stamped images.
Carol and I are both addicted to the Flourishes range and we have just done a swap amongst our selves. I hope Carol likes what I have sent her.

The Rose is stamped in Black ink and then I coloured this rose using Prismacolor pencils and have blended the colors together using odourless mineral spirits. I have used 3 different shades of red for the flower.
Here is a close up
I finished the card off by using Bazzill cardstock and Designer Paper by Kaiser Craft. (from their Christmas range).
I have embellished the card using a buckle cut from the spellbinders range and threaded it with 2 sizes of organza ribbon.
In Australia Flourishes stamps are available from Heavenscent Crafts

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter

High Hopes challenge #24

Here is my card for this weeks High Hopes Challenge.... Creative Borders.
I decided to use a paper lace doily. I was really happy how it all came together.
The image was stamped and then embossed onto watercolour paper. I then coloured using Lyra watercolour crayons. I cut out the circle using my nestabilities (I just love them I don't know what I ever did before they came out).
The purple card stock is Bazzill criss cross. I embellished the finished card with some stickles and paper flowers.

2 cards today

Here are 2 cards for 2 separate High Hopes challenges.
This first card is for this weeks challenge... Buttons Galore.
I have used miniature buttons and also a decorative button. I chose to use Peg Leg Pete, (one of my favourites). I stamped him in Black Stazon and coloured him with Prismacolor pencils.

I chose to layer the card on to basic gray cardstock and used designer paper by Inque Boutique. I also used a steel blue card stock that I found in my scrap pile.
This next card is from a challenge a couple weeks ago, (challenge 21). I was really pleased with how this card came out. The stamp is called Froggy gift, and the designer papers I used were all from Scenic Route.

Once again I coloured in using prismacolor pencils. Both are truly great boy cards.
I just love High Hopes stamps. I am currently working on a wish list list that is enormous. I am having a really hard time deciding what I really need right now and what can wait.
